It's Giving Tuesday! and Okanogan County Long Term Recovery Group is one of the featured nonprofits in the Community Foundation of NCW's GIVE NCW campaign! Help us reach our goal of $30,000 by December 31st!
Last year, with your support, we built and dedicated 14 homes for survivors of the 2014 Carlton Complex Wildfire. This year, we're replacing 14 more--for survivors of both the Carlton Complex and 2015's Okanogan Complex fires.
Although we've raised the funds needed for materials, we still need to raise the funds to coordinate all of the various volunteers who are rebuilding multiple homes at once.
Debra Pedersen has been living in a travel trailer on friends' property ever since the Lime Belt Fire roared through in the summer of 2015 and took her home, outbuildings, fences, animals, and all her personal possessions. But Deb is getting a new home thanks to volunteer crews from North Creek Presbyterian Church (NCPC), Christian Public Service (CPS), and United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
Bob and Judy Laughery, a retired couple, lost their primary home in the 2015 fires, as well as the house their farmhand and his wife occupied. But they'll soon have a new residence thanks to volunteers from NCPC, CPS, and Pacific Northwest Methodist Conference--and generous donors like you!
Now through December 31, the Community Foundation of North Central Washington is helping us raise $30,000, by granting $14,000 to start us off and promoting our campaign as part of their GIVE NCW fundraiser. Thank you so much for your support!
